Profile has one question near the top — "What kind of place is this?" — with seven answers: Restaurant, Café, Coffee Shop, Bakery, Juice Bar, Ice Cream Shop and Hotel.
It changes what your menu editor offers FIRST. Nothing is ever hidden. An ice cream shop sees Scoops, Cone or cup, Flavours, Toppings and Mix-ins without hunting; the other presets are still there behind "Show all". That matters because plenty of shops are more than one thing — a café that sells cakes, a hotel with a restaurant and a pool bar — and a menu editor that removed the other trades' tools would be worse than one that just ordered them badly.
You can change your answer any time, and changing it changes nothing about your menu. No item, price, photo or setting is touched.
What each one leads with: - Restaurant — how would you like it cooked, choice of side, spice level, chef's special. - Fine Dining — everything a restaurant has, plus the story behind each dish, a sommelier note per dish, reservation-only items, a dress code and the chef's biography. Wine pairing across a whole sequence lives on your tasting menu. - Fast Food — extra cheese, sauces, and Remove (no onion, no pickles) so a customer never has to say it at the counter. Combo builders and family and kids meals, plus one-tap reordering for anyone who has ordered before. - Catering — service style, live cooking stations, equipment hire and staff, on top of the enquiry inbox and quotes you already have. Tasting menus are already priced per guest, which is how you publish a package. - Franchise — everything a restaurant has, plus the head-office tools below. - Café — milk, syrup, ice level, sugar, extra shot, hot or iced, barista's pick. - Coffee Shop — everything a café has, plus roast level, origin, brew method and caffeine on each item. - Bakery — cake size, sponge, filling, the freshly baked timer, fresh today and last batch. - Juice Bar — fruits, base, protein, boosters, ice and sugar levels, freshly squeezed and detox. - Ice Cream Shop — scoops, cone or cup, flavours, toppings, mix-ins, new flavour. - Hotel — the widest set, because a hotel contains several of the others. It also switches your locations to outlets, asks room-service customers for a room number instead of an address, and adds a concierge button.
Three things worth knowing whatever you picked:
Ordering the same again — if a customer has sent you a WhatsApp order from this phone before, their menu offers "Order the same again" while their basket is empty. One tap refills it; nothing is sent until they review it and press send as usual.
Delivery apps — Profile has a list of links out to Talabat, Deliveroo or whoever carries you. They appear on your menu under Find us. These are links, not an integration: orders placed in those apps do not appear in your MenuBooklet dashboard.
Reservation only — tick it on any item and it keeps its place on the menu with a badge. It is deliberately not hidden: a dish nobody can see is a dish nobody books for.
Printing a menu — every menu has "Print / Save as PDF" behind the More button. It prints on paper properly (no buttons, no dark backgrounds) and on a phone that dialog is also how you save a PDF to send a client.
Running several branches:
Adding dishes to a branch that already has a menu — open Menu, pick the branch, then "Add new dishes from…" and choose the branch to take them from. It only ADDS. Anything that branch already has is left exactly as it is, including its own price, its own photo and anything it renamed. Nothing is ever changed or deleted, so a branch can never lose work it did, and you are told by name what was added. Dishes are matched by name within a category, ignoring case and spacing.
(The separate "Copy menu from…" still exists and still only works into a completely empty branch — that is for opening a new location, this is for keeping twenty in step.)
Analytics for one branch — the Analytics page has a branch selector once you have more than one. "All branches" is the default and is exactly what you saw before.
What has run out, everywhere — the Locations page now shows each branch's sold-out items under its name, so you can see who needs restocking without opening twenty menus.
Nutrition: Every item can carry protein, carbs, sugar and fat in grams, alongside the calorie count. Fill in only what you know — each figure appears on your menu only if you entered it, so a drink with protein listed and nothing else shows exactly that. Juice bars and protein-shake counters use this most, but it is available to every trade.
