A drink can carry the things a coffee drinker actually asks the counter about. All of it is optional, and an item with none of it set looks exactly as it did before.
In the item editor, under "Strength, roast & origin":
- Strength: how strong it TASTES, from one to five.
- Roast level: light through dark, five steps.
- Origin: free text, such as "Ethiopia, Yirgacheffe".
- Beans: single origin or blend. Origin still carries the detail, so a blend can say "60% Brazil, 40% Ethiopia".
- Caffeine: decaf, low, medium or high.
- Brew method: espresso, filter or pour-over, French press, AeroPress, cold brew, moka pot, siphon or Turkish.
- Brew temperature: entered in Celsius, shown on the menu in both Celsius and Fahrenheit.
- Brew notes: the recipe in your own words, such as "18g in, 36g out, 28 seconds".
Caffeine and strength are separate on purpose. A decaf espresso tastes strong and has no caffeine, and one field cannot say both.
These are all STATED properties: things you are telling the diner about what you serve. When the DINER chooses instead, that is a choice group. Add "Brewing method" or "Cup size" as a choice group on the item and they pick when they order.
