A promotion is an announcement on your own menu: a banner above it, or a pop-up in front of it.
Nothing on this page changes a price. A code here is one your team honours at the counter.
To create one: 1. Open Promotions and choose New promotion. 2. Pick Banner (a strip above the menu) or Pop-up (in front of it). 3. Add the headline, an optional line of detail, and an optional code and button. 4. Set when it starts and ends. Both are required. 5. Save.
USING YOUR OWN POSTER If you already have artwork, upload it instead of typing the offer out.
- Choose an image and the promotion becomes a pop-up automatically. A poster cannot be a banner: the banner is a narrow strip, and a poster would either be crushed or push your menu off the screen.
- Use a TALL, portrait image. Most diners open your menu on a phone, and a portrait poster fills the screen where a wide one leaves bars above and below.
- Anything up to 10 MB is fine. We shrink it to under 200 KB so it opens instantly on mobile data.
- The poster replaces the text card entirely, so your artwork is not framed inside a panel repeating the same words.
- It closes itself after thirty seconds if the diner does not close it first.
WHY BOTH DATES ARE REQUIRED Once a promotion ends we delete its poster to free your storage. A promotion with no end date would never be cleaned up, so its file would sit in your quota forever. The promotion itself is always kept, so you still have a record of what you ran and when.
A pop-up shows once per browser session, so a diner who dismissed it is not shown it again while they read the same menu.
